October’s Not Just About Pumpkins 👀– It’s About Prevention

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and while pink might not be everyone’s favorite color, we can all agree it looks a whole lot better than hospital gowns.

Here’s the deal:

  • 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

  • Early detection saves lives. Period.

  • And yes, guys... you’re not off the hook. Men can get breast cancer too (surprise!).

Think of self-exams and screenings like inspecting a panel after you spent 20 minutes cleaning the front bumper: annoying, easy to put off or skip spots, but if you skip… we all know it can bite you later. And unlike body panels, there are no redos for the people we love.

So this month, let’s remind ourselves and each other:

👉 Do the self-check (question changes)

👉 Schedule the mammogram.

👉 Nudge your friends who “keep meaning to.”

Because catching it early doesn’t just save lives... it saves futures, families, and Friday night plans.

Colors On Parade stands with survivors, supports those fighting, and remembers those we’ve lost. Let’s make early detection the new trend this October.

Bottom Line: Love your body. Check your body. Save your body.
